Wonderful Italian with a Sardinian focus. Star of the neighborhood - worth a detour. Just be prepared for a wait. On the upside, the bar seats are reserved for walk-ins!

Café by day (Heart Coffee + free wi-fi) and tasty classic cocktails by night from Jennifer Colliau and team. Love this space. A hidden gem within Fort Mason.
Run, don't walk. The croissant literally brought me to my knees. Best Bakery USA from Bon Appetit mag 2016.

Beloved SF ice cream shop with constantly changing experimental flavors. My favorite is Secret Breakfast (corn flakes and bourbon), which makes for an incredible affogato.

World War II themed bar, it's my neighborhood go-to for good cocktails
Great spot for cocktails. They also have an impressive spirits selection that is reasonably priced.

Decent-sized market every Sunday from 9am - 1:30pm. Good spot to grab breakfast or lunch.
Salvage from Playland. Charming and peculiar.
Old-school arcade games amongst other entertaining things. Great for families.
A British fish and chips stand near Fishermans Wharf. Makes a baja fish taco if you're feeling slightly healthier, or a fried Snickers bar if you're not. Open 11:30-7pm.
Want to go for the fish 'n chips
Just about the tastiest burgers I know. Your best option near Fisherman's Wharf short of Gary Danko (not even kidding).
If you find yourself in Fisherman's Wharf, this is probably your best bet when it comes to a tasty and affordable meal.
Best Irish coffee!
Where the first Irish Coffee was made and served in the US. Typically packed with tourists, but an SF institution nonetheless.
One of the top-rated and longest running fine dining establishments in SF. Walk-in's accepted at the bar, which is a great less formal option. Pre-fixe menu. Partaking in the supplemental cheese cart is a must!
Hummus and falafel and sabich! From AQ alum Guy Eshel, setting the bar for Israeli food in San Francisco.

Lovely new café in Presidio Heights serving up Andytown coffee and a thoughtful selection of organic gluten-free breakfast and lunch options. Smoothies and bone broth as well!
Raw bar and champagne! Cocktails are great as well.
Best quiche I've ever had. Want to go back for everything else!
The carnitas dorado super burrito dorado (yes twice) con 3 quesos is unbelievable. Oh, and also crowned America's Best Burrito by Five Thirty Eight. A must.

A faithful historic renovation of Fort Baker into a resort that doesn't stop at the original military buildings; it builds on it with modern lofts overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and a remarkable spa that complement the earlier compound rather than competing with it. Highly recommended.
One of our favorite spots for a Bay Area "Staycation". Transportation to/from SF twice daily across the Golden Gate Bridge. Former military base transformed into a beautiful luxury hotel/resort. Dog-friendly, spectacular views of SF, great restaurant/bar, spa, hiking trails, etc. Highly recommend!

Want to go! Owners/chefs are a married couple that have worked at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, Per Se, Blue Hill, Texture, L’ Amphytrion, and locally at Central Kitchen and Commonwealth. Organic/biodynamic wine menu. Casual European-inspired cuisine.
Great East Bay specialty coffee roaster. Nitro coffee and beer on tap. Solid food menu as well. Love the back patio!
Delicious Puerto Rican cuisine. Amazing meat, rice, beans and plantains using fresh high-quality ingredients. Need to go back for the sandwiches!
Nantucket themed, Californian-Mexican food ('tacko', get it?). Tasty burritos (try one San Diego style) and salsa. Watermelon agua fresca with lime hits the spot in summer. Must try tacos next time.

A kinda hidden spot for coffee surrounded by plants. Much quieter than other Ritual Coffee Roasters. Visit here with your fav book and enjoy a sunny part of the city.
Beautiful little coffee kiosk inside of Flora Grubb (nursery & garden). Sit amongst the trees and plant life while enjoying some coffee and a pastry.
Fantastic wine merchant. Unique selection of natural wines, small producers from CA, France, Italy, Germany, Slovenia and beyond.

Beautiful bright and simplistic interior with a small but tasty Greek-inspired menu of wraps & salads plus a nice selection of Grecian wines. Went with the lamb, but looking forward to going back for the pork and rotisserie chicken. The frozen yogurt with honey was delicious!
Ignore the decor, this family owned and operated middle eastern restaurant makes the best kebabs, schwarma and garlic dip in SF.

Arguably the highest-regarded vegetarian restaurant in San Francisco. Went here for a wedding reception; wonderful food. Still need to go for a full meal though!
Fantastic organic vegetarian fare with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge (right on the water).
My favorite Mexican restaurant within walking distance of where we live. Fun and loud neighborhood joint in North Beach. Everything on the menu is awesome!
Excellent viennoiserie in the Dog Patch. Limited seating outside on the sidewalk. Serves De La Paz coffee/espresso. I highly recommend.

really cute place - lovely mugs, tables and *super* kid friendly - it's bernal heights after all!
Great little coffee shop in Bernal Heights. Owner is typically there and is super-friendly. Recommend if you're in the area.
Highly recommend a tour and tasting here. St. George was a pioneer in the craft distilling world and they care a lot about the quality of the products they put out. They are now distilling everything from gin and vodka to brandy, whiskey and even an agave spirit (read: tequila). Their liqueurs are all great as well.
Fantastic romantic Italian restaurant on Hyde Street. A Russian Hill gem. Fresh made pastas daily. Great Italian wine selection and the service is top-notch.
Delicious relationally-sourced coffee served up in a beautiful space. Try the Kaffe Tonic or the Tasting Flight (same coffee prepared 4 different ways). Also, Worthy Granola! Highly recommend.
Coffee shop run by ex-Chez Panisse folks. Nice breakfast fare (especially the soft-boiled eggs), plus Acme Bread is next door. Espresso a tinge sour for me. Limited seating. I recommend.

Nice, knowledgeable staff, and a thoughtful selection. A good neighborhood find.
Great wine selection from around the globe. Bar area in the back and outdoor patio where you can enjoy wines by the glass, a flight or an entire bottle from the store for just $5 corkage!
Nice sushi, went here with Vlad
Favorite neighborhood sushi spot after living here for 8+ years. Friendly staff/service. Be sure to ask about specials!
Great little beer bar with over 20 craft beers on tap and over 100 by the bottle (available for take-away purchase as well). Small snack menu with organic ingredients. They also have wine and cider.
Really good gluten free fried chicken! (They have regular too.) Get with a cup of bone broth, and you have a great meal.

Cute. Small.
Small but beautiful space. Owners Nick and Trish are pros.
Craft cocktail bar hidden in the red light district. Impressive spirits and cocktail selection along with late night food using quality ingredients. The Bon Bivants got their start here! Training grounds for some of SF's best bartenders.
Amazing view right above the famous windy street
Great view of the Bay atop Lombard St. Go on weekdays and not during the summer if you want to avoid the crowds.
