Gabriela Camara (of legendary Contramar in CDMX) comes to SF with some remarkable seafood up her sleeve. I feel transported to Mexico City every time I walk in the door. Notable mezcal and wine selections. Delicious tacos via the back alley on weekday afternoons too.

Quality coffee and food options, notable as the only local BB with weekend brunch. This location also has just about every exotic coffee contraption you’ll ever see, from the kyoto coffee tower of glass and brass, to the vintage La Marzocco for single origin espresso, to the siphon pot bar.
Blue bottle has some fancy coffee technology.
Japanese with locavore sensibilities, in the old O Chame space. Delicious.
Good ramen on a cool day. Terrible spoons though.
Beautiful Japanese paper and cards. Photo via @hollyshot (Instagram).
This place made me think of a great dinner with @mm

Take a trip to the world's finest restaurants without leaving San Francisco. Corey Lee collaborates with top chefs to recreate some of their most memorable dishes, in spectacular fashion. Very much at home at the new SFMoMA.

A favorite classic bread bakery in the Bay Area.
Coffee shop run by ex-Chez Panisse folks. Nice breakfast fare (especially the soft-boiled eggs), plus Acme Bread is next door. Espresso a tinge sour for me. Limited seating. I recommend.

One of the best cities in the world. Worth traveling to see.
The classic overlook of SF and the Golden Gate Bridge. It never gets old.
A beautiful coastal view from the Marin headlands
A comfortable dark aesthetic, pretty lazy service, and some weird ass wines.
Outer sunset dumpling spot, no frills, no flash, but good dumplings, green beans, and bomb chili sauce.

The go to place for Indian in the Bay Area.
Interesting coffee shopped that custom roasts beans in house - to order!
You know what this is!
Engulfed in incredible aroma. Drinking a Burmese shandy and eating fermented tea leaf salad!
A favorite spot to take visitors for something really delicious they likely don't have at home. Get the tea leaf salad, superstar noodles, and pork/pumpkin stew!
A great take out spot in Berkeley for quality local foods, everything served in beautiful ceramics.
Lively street food style Thai. Share everything!
Great simple Thai food, full flavor, super casual.
An amazing antiques flea market with a wide variety, fair prices, and some good food trucks too!
A great shop with lots of fun stuff and a great aesthetic.
A staple in SF, good food, good wine, so/so service. The legendary roast chicken is beautifully cooked.
The place for 2nds and 3rds of quality Heath pieces. Amazing!!
Say yes to brunch. And every other meal of the day here. One of the best late night options in SF. And one of the best things about the city, too.
This place lives up to the hype. Great food, drinks, and service. These folks are good at the restaurant thing.
All manner of thoughtful vintage odds and ends. Umamimart showroom in the back as well.
A wonderful collection. A must stop for people who enjoy home design.
One of my favorite spots in town for a casual + beautiful meeting spot. I definitely come for the toast, though they're pulling shots of Four Barrel on the espresso machine.
Good drinks in great ceramics, toast, and a beautiful aesthetic - what more could you want?
A must do spot for each season. And only $7 for an all day pass.
It was a beautiful space, decent service, decent food. Still finding their groove? Mackerel was awesome!
New Thai place (Feb 2014) from famous food personality Pim Techamuanvivit (aka "Chez Pim"), they make everything (except for shrimp paste) in house, but on an early visit, several dishes fell short.
The boat trip relish is the best thing I've eaten in 2015. (June) what a good meal.
Wise Sons pastrami downtown! Cafe with incredible reubens, babka + De La Paz coffee. In the Contemporary Jewish Museum (no admission required) with a takeout window too (and plenty of outdoor seating).

A truly great neighborhood restaurant in SF.
Beautiful space, good cocktails, decent service. It's great that they're open late!
100% always worth the wait in line. Possibly the best bakery in the US. In short: eat here!
Ryan ventures here from Napa for their Szechuan cooking. Repeatedly. Now a Bib Gourmand for 2015.
Best Szechuan in the Bay Area. Amazing fish dishes, always something new to try. Beer wine and liquor too.
The place where all of our ground is common. Where marks are truly made.
Kouign amann, hands down.
Kouign amann is possibly the single best pastry in creation. This is the only place that's pulled me away from Tartine.
