Unpretentious and hole in the wall fish restaurant. Bright character and lighting has outdoor seating as well. Simple clean food with some inventive dishes as well.
Cute wine bar with charming owner who will guide you through the wines available by the glass. Food available too, but the kitchen is limited to salads, grilled things, sandwiches, and the like. Sit outside year round (heat lamps in winter) and watch the passerbys on Via Scarlatti.
Want to go. Terraces, more isolated, swimming!
A classic destination for a margherita with mozzarella di bufala. Though it used to be my favorite, other new upstart pizzerias (such as 50 Kalò and Pepe in Grani) have captured my heart.
Simply the best pizza. No frills. Good friggitoria too!
Super simple old school trattoria; quite compact. Get a first course, second course, fruit/dessert, wine and water for less than 15€. The elderly owners will come around to recite the small menu and make sure you're having a good time.
Simple, classic Neapolitan food. A Vomero institution. Get there at shoulder times (12:30 or earlier, 3:30 or later) to avoid lines. Same family owned and operated for 90+ years, daily menu based on market availability.
Good frutti di mare.
Butcher by day, restaurant by night.

Pasta con cozze e vongole. Only when the chef suggests it though. The rest of the time, ask for recommendations or get pizza.
5 different kinds of the same pizza just with different tomatoes.
Want to go. Via Flavio. Amazing fried pizza. You can see them make the fried pizza in front of you.
Want to go. Amazing pizza, fried, via Flavio Fucci.
Want to go. Mostly for the view. Lounge by night, commanding views over downtown Napoli and Vesuvio.
Pasticciotti.
The son of the pizzaiolo who runs "il presidente". Clinton ate there during his 1994 G7 trip to Naples. The sons place is more gaudy but can be a great fallback when the lines at DiMatteo or Sorbillo are too long.
Cool looking wine bar in a bookstore by night.
#remarkable #faccemazz
#wanttogo back for more pastries
Danger!! The meatballs of this place can cause symptoms of nostalgia and addiction...
Cool underground vibe, you feel like you're joining the resistance.
Rothschild villa. Beautifully preserved. Via @giovax
Beautiful courtyard, archeological ruins, frescoes abound in this 14th century cloister.
Why not take an elevator named after a British admiral?
My grandfather was the director! Small but nice collection of fish.
Want to go. Obviously, get the fish. Quiet, reasonably priced.

Little warm Pizzeria in the heart of Vomero
Ok pizza, but convenient neighborhoodly location.
Great pizza, try one of the more complex ones for an interesting flavor pairing.

The lesser-known but better-preserved alternative to Pompei.
After you have an antipasto of scarpetta di ragù you will eat a primo with ragù, followed (if you haven't burst yet) by a secondo, also featuring ragù. Not for the faint of heart, although they do have vegetarian ragù made with seitan. Yum yum.
Tiny but very well curated museum in a magnificently restored 17th century palazzo. Has one of the 3 Caravaggios still left in Naples. You could see most of this place in 30 minutes, small but powerful.
You will want *all* the flavors! Don't blame me...
Best ice cream in Vomero, if not Naples. You walk in and it feels like a dairy. Do one thing, but do it well.
It's just so good. But don't take my word for it! NY Times says: "Resist the temptation to defect to the other, less crowded pizzeria called Sorbillo on the same street, because it’s worth waiting for this traditional pizza margherita (3.30 euros): tomato, mozzarella and basil on a soft, chewy crust that inevitably will sag over the edge of your plate onto the table." Grand caffe, as the sign says. Classic Italian bel epoca caffe. Leave a caffe sospeso if you are feeling generous. Also a great place to sit outside and people watch with a Spritz on a summer evening.
Amazing views and museum. Courtyard full of necro stone carvings.
Recommended by sanjmar.
I can confirm the croissant with the baked in crema is quite good. French style pastry.
Suggested by Giovanni, maybe has great tea? Want to go.
The theatre where opera was invented. Do you need another reason to go?
Domestic Eataly.
Hot chocolate of the gods and great ice cream available as well as the chocolates for which they are famous.
Classic and amazing espresso. Gruff barmen dish the good stuff. Skip the cappuccino and pastries.
Bar in a record store. Hopping youth hangout in the evenings past 8pm.
High brow shopping in the high part of Naples (Vomero). Lots of food, shopping, and ice cream on this pedestrianized street.
Nice urban green space. Museum of ceramics inside. Be sure to checkout the view from the lowest part of the park.
The best selection of cigars and tobacco in Napoli
Don't smoke. But go here for the leather goods, gum selection, and lottery tickets. The staff is friendly and extremely tifoso del Napoli.
Ottima frittura

Neapolitan chocolate since 1894. Excellent scorzetti. Ice cream is a recent (10 years ago) addition to their repertoire, but is excellent and the tartufi are not to be missed.
Required stop. Get an overview of Naples history in a cool respite (18C year round!). Awesome candle-lit aqueducts and tromping around underground caverns.
Amazing views from the top!
Friendly local pizzeria with decent quality pizzas, low prices, and fast service. If you're extra hungry try the fried zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta as an appetizer.
Amazing views. Picnics during the day. Friday nights in the summer cocktail hour 8pm onward.
nice views from the top and lively nightlife during the evenings.
