One of my favorites in NYC. Variety of great dishes like Ika Uni (squid and urchin texture paired), Tako Wasa (wasabi octopus), and Okonomiyaki with benito flakes. No reservations and long waits.
Michael told me I didn't have mark for Estella, but it was still one of the most influential recommendations. So here it is....

Stumptown coffee, spacious seating, and some of the most fantastic savory bakes on the upper west side including quiche, empanadas and tortilla española.
Very long waits for lunch/brunch. If you get in, try the Green Shakasura (tomatillo based) or their [Croque] Madame Freda.
The beet cured lox is quite tasty.
Kenta Goto's cozy Japanese cocktail bar, his first solo project after time spent at Pegu Club down the road. Tasty looking okonomiyaki-focused food menu to boot. Want to go. Photo via PUNCH / Daniel Krieger.

Korean take on European tarts etc (milk bread, cheese bread)

Fantastic! Same owners as Decibel on 9th.
*All* the spices (but not always the freshest).
Finally made it and the wait was well worth it. Delicious super thin crust pizza. Salad was fresh and tasty. The other tables' pastas looked good. Pizza, though, mmmmm
Great NYC bar. Good for business and pleasure.
Old books, prints and maps.
Everything you need for a Tokyo apartment.
Fun underground space with great cocktails.
Amazing.
There are two seats in this coffee shop. It feels so great when you get one.
Counter culture coffee. And vinyl.

Welcome to the center of the bubble.
Like dining in Rosarito.
Adorable coffee shop under the high line. Coffee from Counter Culture roasters. Sells bread/meat/cheese picnic kits.
Coffee from Ritual roasters.
Try the Royal Pudding
Co-working space with a lot of companies from GA north-wing.
Intelligentsia coffee and fantastic Cuban sandwiches.
Tacos and café con leche.
Looks like a yacht inside.
Nondescript artisan cocktail bar. Look for the bronze plaque. Same owners as little branch.
The classic 'appetizing' shop in the Lower East Side, a temple to smoked fish, bagels and savory snacks. Must try a smoked salmon bagel.

They serve decent espresso during the day, but at night it turns into a Jazz club, which I can't wait to try.

The coffee is ok, but the atmosphere is great and they have empanadas, arepas and other Colombian treats.

The music is vinyl, the spoons are compostable, the affogato to die for.
Yes, it's unhealthy, but chocolate custard.

The Lamb Burger is incredibly tasty.
Many good experiences here. Nearly as good as the dumpling places in LA's San Gabriel Valley.
A tasty dive.

Good gelato if you can stomach suburban interior clichés like a cherub frieze, rag painted walls and faux artisan iron wall corner guards.

The soup-inspired Saigon Spicy Brisket sandwich is unique and fantastic. High quality ingredients, generous portions and happy staff make this my favorite lunch stop in NYC.
Formerly known as The Pump. Simple meals, plain ingredients, not much sodium. Favorite of the post-workout crowd and bachelors trying to eat healthy.
This place has some winning flavors: Black sesame, pink grapefruit sorbet, guava, cherry vanilla. Mmmmmm.
Legit third wave coffee place with knowledgable baristas. Beans are mostly from Intelligentsia. The shop is a bit small, so you might want to head to the park to finish your cup.
The brat burger with fennel sauerkraut is a mite tasty.
